DESIGNERS ON THE EDGE
WORLD STAGE DESIGN WORKSHOP
TAIPEI/TAIWAN, 2017
ROSANE MUNIZ, RENATO BOLELLI, MARCELO DENNY and MARCOS BULHÕES
The costume workshop aims to provoke designers over the boundaries of the performer's body, considering the costume, the use of the space and the internal sounds as the body's edge, thinking about them as expressions of different emotions, such as pain, frailty, or even the pleasure or enjoyment. The costume won’t be created as one external piece to be worn, but as an alive piece in action, with a movement that could “tell” the story, without necessity of a text, although performers can use words. “Live your existence, live your finitude through the body and the created elements, materialized to reveal and move yourself on the scene.” That is the idea. This workshop is for costume designers who wish to perform experience as part of the scene, working in the performance, exploring their own emotions both in the physical materialization as with the sentiment expressed by their body/costume.
